Elijah Kirby
Founder / Meteorologist
Elijah Kirby is a local meteorologist and the founder of Southern Tennessee Weather, formerly known as Shelbyville Weather, serving Bedford, Coffee, and Moore Counties in southern Middle Tennessee. Driven by an early fascination with storms—born from witnessing the 2009 Murfreesboro tornado—Elijah began providing vital, hyperlocal updates in high school.
Today, Elijah continues to connect and protect his community through daily forecasts, public-service messaging, and livestream coverage during severe weather. His platform, now trusted by multiple-thousands across social media, delivers updates when mainstream outlets sometimes fall short.
A UAH meteorology graduate and National Weather Service SKYWARN volunteer, Elijah blends professional expertise with hometown dedication. Through his active presence on Facebook, X, Instagram, YouTube, and local radio, Southern Tennessee Weather ensures every storm is met with clarity, care, and confidence.
